Toolkit 2: Reflective Statement

Toolkit two has been an interesting project to work on, I found the time spent on the project to be enjoyable to an extent in particular when things were going smoothly and no crashes occurred with the software. The main things I enjoyed the most about the project was the learning aspect I feel like I have learned a lot about character modeling and rigging. Even though I have finished Jetpack Johns I would not feel comfortable with modeling and rigging a full character on my own without the tutorials. But with that said I feel with a bit more practice and repetition of doing the same thing to my premise characters I can confidently say that I will be ready to attempt a model of my own without any help from the tutorials. I would not expect, said model to be perfect but it will be a stepping stone to allowing me to be independent in the future.  On the other hand, one other thing that I really didn't think I will enjoy was the Mudbox exercises, but after completing them I feel like

Toolkit 2: MudBox

Watching the LinkedIn learning tutorials has made me learn a lot about how Mudbox can be used for creating textures but also adding details to your Maya models. although I watched all of the tutorials on LinkedIn learning I was not capable of finishing all of the tasks that were given to me due to hardware limitations. I'm hoping after I fix this issue I can revisit this tutorial and attempt some of the stuff I was not able to do during the summer holiday here are some of the screenshots I took. I will be attending to sculpt my premise Character, with this I hope to learn the basics of how to sculpt with clay but also to give me a better understanding of my character before modeling them in Maya. I am also hoping to return back to Mudbox after learning key things normal clay and giving them

Going into this project I was really excited about getting started mainly because I got to develop an idea of my own and see it progress and become something. I would not say it was easy to do this and throughout the project I found myself learning about things I did not know how to do. When I first started developing my idea and the story that was to come, it was just a shell compared to now. I know I still have a long way to go before my idea is finalised. But I think that what I have learned through this project has helped me develop an understanding of how to go about story building.  I have learned now that adding onto an idea is not always something you should do, and that understanding what you have initially and developing it further can be just as good. this project has helped me build a better understanding of how a story can function and what a story can be. At the start, I would have added more onto my idea but now I realise that even what I have can be just as good.  The p

Premise: Animatic Test

This is a test animatic I created from the panels in my storyboard in order to show me how my story will look. From this animatic, I have learned that there are areas in my storyboard that need improving and I need to add extra scenes in order to make the story more cohesive. overall this has been a learning experience for me in understanding how to go about creating an animatic and I hope with the next one there is an improvement.

Father Design Here are the designs for the main Characters' father, I still feel that the side view can use some improvements because I'm still struggling to translate what the character looks like from all sides. I will try on working to improve this later on.

Child Child as Adult Father Face Designs Here are my character designs for my premise project, I have designed both my child and adult versions and have started looking at face designs for the father. Tomorrow I will look into designing the rest of the father's body and drawing the turn arounds. later on, I am also hoping to design the characters further and create facial expressions

Here are the first attempts at the storyboard for my premise project I still have a lot of work to do to make them the best they can be but this is my first step to understanding what my animation will be and how it will work.
